With literally hundreds of types of mens’ cologne piled onto the shelves at stores, it’s so hard to know what’s what. While we’d love to have the time to smell and sample them all, this simply isn’t practical.
In addition to this, I couldn’t imagine the process of sampling so many colognes to be a pleasant one. We have to leave the art of selecting a good fragrance to our imagination, combined with some smart research.
Being the holiday season and all, many of my readers have been asking for gift ideas. I believe that men’s cologne is a great one, provided that you buy him something he likes. Hopefully one of the five following colognes will appeal to him as much as they do to me.
One hot cologne this season is Lacoste Style in Play. The famous designer has come out with another successful addition to its line of men’s fragrances, and this cologne features a scent that blends musk and woods.
Another one that you may enjoy is Calvin Klein’s Obsession. While this cologne is well over a decade old at this point, it still remains one of the most successful of all time. People love the smell of this, which somewhat resembles watermelon blended with spice and musk.
The One, by Dolce and Gabbana. With a spicy fragrance that originates from the Orient, this is a cologne that will definitely appeal to a man who likes a scent with a little more spice built into it.
If spice isn’t your thing, then here’s one on the opposite end of the spectrum. Versace’s Blue Jeans may be one of the sweetest colognes I’ve ever smelled, and this classic fragrance always goes well with those who enjoy something sweet.
Something a bit more neutral in my mind is Armani Code. This comes in a sophisticated dark blue bottle, and its scent is very masculine without being overpowering. It may be the sportiest of the ones I’ve mentioned, but it’s an ideal cologne for nightlife too.
