The first advice on getting your ex back is to get your own life back on track. Your ex will never want to come back if he sees you as whimpering and broken as a result of the breakup. If you want to rekindle the relationship then you have got to show that you are perfectly fine without him. Once he gets the idea that you are no longer available to him he is more likely to come after you.
A good way of showing your ex that you are completely over him is to return to him everything in your possession that belongs to him. Collect all the gifts and mementos, all his stray shirts and baseball gloves and pack them neatly in a box. You might want to include a note with the items. Do not sign off with any ‘love from’ or ‘missing you’; a curt ‘best wishes’ or ‘regards’ is enough.
