Beautiful jewelry can come in various forms and shapes and types. Beautiful heart jewelry is no exception to this rule. It is very popular these days to incorporate gemstones into jewelry. Do you know of all the various types of gemstones that are often used? In this short article we will be focusing on the various gemstones that are often used in the creation of pretty jewelry.

Amber is an ancient organic gemstone. Many people think it is a “stone”, but it is not. It is composed of tree resin that has hardened over the years. In fact, in order for the stone to be classified as amber, it has to be at least 1,000,000 years old. Some amber can be up to 120,000,000 years old.

Amethyst is the most prized gemstone in the quartz family, and this has been the case for many years. It is prized for its “purple hue”, which can range from light to dark.

What gemstone is known for its fine green to bluish green color? The answer is emeralds. An ancient gemstone, some historians believe that it was mined by the Ancient Egyptians way back to 3500 B.C.

Jade can come in a variety of colors, but the most popular color is green. This gemstone has been closely linked to Asian history, culture and tradition. It has a nickname, which is the “stone of heaven”.

The gemstone jasper can come in a variety of colors. It is a member of the chalcedony family. Known for its very interesting and elaborate patterns, one of the most popular forms of this gemstone is the “picture jasper” (which is specifically known for it’s beige’s and browns and swirls).

Rubies, amongst the most highly valued precious gemstones, are known for their intense red color. In the Sanskrit language the word for ruby is “ratnaraj”. It means “king of precious stones”.

Sapphires are amongst the most popular of gemstones in the United States. The “blue sapphire” tops the list. Known for its medium to deep blue color, and its strong saturation, it is much more affordable than ruby, emerald, or “regular sapphires”.

Did you know that the gemstone turquoise is found in only a few places on earth? Which area is the world’s largest producer of turquoise? Do you know? The answer is the southwest region of the United States. It is a gemstone prized for its attractive medium blue to greenish blue color.

Did you know that some gemstones are classified as organic? This refers to the fact that they are produced by living organisms. Examples of these types of gemstones are coral, pearls, and amber. Other gemstones are classified as inorganic, which means that they are composed of minerals.

We hope that you enjoyed this brief tour into the world of gemstones that are most often utilized in the creation of jewelry. Heart jewelry uses these gemstones very heavily. Beautiful and colorful, these gemstones can add significant value to a piece of jewelry.

The “heart shape” often conjures up thoughts of love and romance. It has worked its way into our treasured annual holidays like St. Valentine’s Day, into greeting cards and gifts, and into our jewelry designs as well. As we all know, jewelry is often made out of precious metals like gold and silver, and precious gems like diamonds and emeralds, and by incorporating the “heart shape” we are produce an object that displays the eternal ideas of romance, love, caring, and belonging. We will now explore the origins of heart jewelry, the “heart shape symbol”, and the world’s most famous heart-shaped diamond.

For years and years the heart symbol has been used to refer to not only the spiritual and emotional, but also the moral and intellectual core of a human being. It is usually colored “red” as this suggests not only blood (which the heart is responsible for pumping thorough the body), but strong emotions like passion and what emotion can possibly be stronger than that of true love?

One of the most rare gems in nature is the “heart-shaped” diamond. I said rare…but they do exist. Perhaps the most famous example of this type of gem is the “Blue Heart” Diamond. Also called the “Eugenie Blue”, many people consider it to be the best example of a blue diamond that the world has ever seen. It’s debatable whether the Hope Diamond is more famous, but it’s the unique heart shape of the “Blue Heart” that really makes it stand out from the crowd. When you are looking for an object that exemplifies pure elegance and simplicity, its hard look farther than the “Blue Heart”.

The “Blue Heart” is a 30.82 metric carat diamond. It is thought to be of either African or Indian origin. The original rough diamond was cut by Antanik Ekyanan of Neuilly, Paris in either 1909 or 1910. It’s current dimensions are: 20mm x 19mm x 12mm.

An Argentinian woman named Mrs. Unzue sold the diamond to Cartier in 1910. She had set the diamond into a corsage, and it was in this setting when it was sold to Van Cleef and Arpels in 1953.

Next stop…an European family. They then sold this heart jewelry gem to a gentleman named Harry Winston in 1959. He put the diamond into a ring, and then sold it to Marjorie Merriweather Post, who eventually donated it to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. This wonderful example of heart jewelry is currently on display at this institution today. Want a bit of trivia? At one point the “Blue Heart” Diamond, the Hope Diamond, and the Heart of Eternity were all on display at the Smithsonian.

The Greeks were known for a lot of incredible things, but little is known of their jewelry. The first true examples we have of Ancient Greek Jewelry is pieces that utilize beads shaped in the form of various animals and shells. Around–00 B.C. they started to utilize gemstones and gold into their various jewelry designs. By the time 300 B.C. had rolled around, they had ventured into the area of colored jewelry that utilized amethysts, pearls, and emeralds. They made cameos from a striped down pink and cream agate known as the Indian Sardonyx. As was the case with most cultures, Greek jewelry designs started off simply, but as time progressed, they grew increasingly more elaborate and complex.

Jewelry in Ancient Greece was not worn in the daily lives of the people. It was to be worn during special occasions or while on public appearances. It was a common gift, and women often used it to show off their beauty, social status, and degree of wealth. Jewelry was often deemed to have mystical powers. It was thought to provide the wearer with protection from the “Evil Eye” (i.e.: a look by another person that is thought to send injury or bad luck), or other supernatural powers. Most Greek jewelry of the time was made from gold and silver, with gemstones and ivory, clay and bronze utilized as well.

The Ancient Greeks developed two types of jewelry. These types were: (1) cast jewelry pieces and (2) those that were formulated by hammering out sheet metal. We have only a few examples of these cast jewelry pieces available today. They were made by casting the metal onto two moulds made out of either clay or stone. These two moulds were joined together with wax, and molten metal was poured into the center of the mould. This technique had been passed down since the Ancient Bronze Age. Jewelry made from hammering sheet metal was much more common. Sheet metal was hammered to the desired thickness, and then soldered together.

Let’s fast forward to the time of the Ancient Romans. Brooches, which were used to secure their clothing together, were very common at the time. The Roman Empire, being very vast and huge at the time, was something that the Romans took full advantage of. They incorporated the various materials that they were able to obtain from the far reaches of their Empire. They used quite a bit of glass beads and pearls in their early years, but later on they incorporated bronze, bone, and gold. They were also known to have used Indian diamonds, amber, and emeralds, as well as Sri Lankan sapphires into their various jewelry designs.

Like their neighbors the Greeks, one of the purposes of Roman jewelry was to ward off the “Evil Eye” given by one’s enemies. Women wore jewelry all over their bodies, but for men, it was often only a ring on the finger. It was expected that Roman men would wear a ring on one finger, but some Roman men wore a ring on every finger, while others wore no jewelry at all.

Every man out there should learn how to approach women, because if he doesn’t, he is missing out on the vital first step for finding the girl of his dreams and forming a relationship with her…

The way you approach a girl can make or break the rest of your pickup. Here are some tips for approaching women that will help ensure your success!

Remember a situation where you were going to approach a girl, and before you could even get a single word out, she freaked out and simply rejected you?

Getting rejected right off the bat can be painful, but this is why you need to know the secrets to approaching women the right way! Once you’ve “blown it” with a girl, it is extremely hard to recover.

It is vitally important to make sure when approaching women, that you do so in a NON-TREATENING way and that you don’t telegraph your interest in the woman you’re approaching too early.

This is known as “coming in under the radar.”

You have to understand that most attractive women get hit on CONSTANTLY, so they’ve trained themselves to simply reject guys at the first sign they’re out to pick them up.

Most men don’t realize how annoying it can be for women to constantly be approached by guys who run the gamut from big time loser to big time creep. Because of this, women just don’t want to deal with yet “another pick-up attempt.”

Approaching women can be both easy AND fun when you know how to do it RIGHT.

I guess the big question is – what’s the right way to approach a woman?

First – YOU MUST ACT FAST.

Waiting too long before you approach a woman will give you a chance to talk yourself out of meeting her. You need to overcome your fear and approach quickly when the opportunity presents itself.

Secondly, know what you’re going to start the conversation with BEFORE you approach the girl. This will make meeting women much easier because you don’t have to spend time thinking of what to say before you feel comfortable walking up to meet her.

So having a good pick-up line in your hip pocket to use in these situations is probably a good idea.

But I’m not talking about the “Hey, nice shoes, what to have sex?” type line. The point is to be NON-THREATENING, remember?

The best lines usually engage the girl in an innocent conversation. You can do so by asking her opinion on something and then following that up with more questions.

When approaching a woman, it’s important that you approach her from an ANGLE. Most guys charge towards the girl they want to meet like they’re marching to war! Coming in at an angle is much less confrontational and will put the girl at ease on a subconscious level.

The simple fact is – great pick-ups can only occur when the girl you are talking to feels comfortable with you! That’s why you need to feel comfortable talking to the girl.

It’s natural to feel uncomfortable meeting attractive women, but remember – practice makes perfect! If you take the time to go out and practice meeting women, over time it will become easier and you’ll be more comfortable with doing it.

Simply reading about meeting women or studying techniques is not going to help you get good at approaching women. If you want real success, you actually have to go out in the real world and meet lots of women so you can build your experience level. And the cool thing is – the more you do it, the easier it gets!

Don’t be afraid of getting rejected when you do this. Look at it as a game and distance yourself from the outcome. You’re not trying to get a date or get her into bed, your only goal is to talk to her and strike up a conversation. If you do that, you win!

That’s all!

See how many girls you can talk to in one night, and keep trying to beat your score.

The last thing you want to remember is always use a “time constraint” when approaching a woman. This is very easy to do – just tell her right off the bat that you’re not going to be long because you have to get back to what you were doing.

Effective use of time constraints will better engage the woman you’re talking to, because she won’t feel that she’s committing to a time-consuming endeavor. Instead, you’re only a momentary “distraction.” This helps eliminate any reason to reject you right off the bat.

Don’t worry about putting a time limit on yourself. Once the conversation picks up, the girl will forget about your time constraint and you can talk to her as long as you want. Remember, the goal here is just to get the conversation started, and a good time constraint will help you do that!

The dating game is a numbers game. The more women you’re able to meet, the greater your chances at finding a great girlfriend, and possibly even a future wife.
